We are proud to announce that NorCal Underwater Hunters is now a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN: 39-4920816).  All donations are tax-deductible.

Entry fee $60

Beneficiaries

Event proceeds will support:

● Future King of NorCal events

● AllWaters.org (http://allwaters.org/): a watermen’s organization advocating for coastal access and fishing rights

● City of Fort Bragg Community Food Bank

The event is open to the public, and we encourage everyone to share and attend as we bring the community together.

King of NorCal 2026

Saturday, August 15

Caspar Campground

● Sign-in begins: 6:30 AM

● All divers must return and sign out by: 2:00 PM

● Entry Fee: $60

Competition Rules

● Free dive only (no scuba)

● Buddy system required (mandatory for safety)

● All divers must sign back in, whether fish are harvested or not

● Scramble-style meet: dive anywhere after check-in

● Allowed transportation: shore diving, kayaks, and boats

Competition Categories

1. Largest Lingcod (combined weight and length)

2. Heaviest Combined Stringer

3. Largest Scallop

● Each category includes a $10 buy-in

● Prize payout per category: 70% / 20% / 10%

Food & Raffle

● Community Potluck Lunch

○ Caspar Campground will provide a whole pig

○ NorCal Underwater Hunters will provide additional items

○ Participants and guests are encouraged to bring a dish to share

● Fundraising Raffle

○ Hosted by Friends of NorCal Underwater Hunters

○ Raffle tickets sold day-of

○ Proceeds benefit future events, AllWaters.org, and the Fort Bragg Food Bank

Weather Policy

This event is weather permitting. The host reserves the right to cancel due to unsafe ocean or weather conditions. Refunds will be issued if the event is canceled.
